First, schedule an initial meeting with the photographers whose portfolio you like. This will allow you to understand their approach, but most importantly, to assess how you feel with them.

Then, once you’ve made your choice, your photographer will send you a service agreement to sign in order to seal your collaboration. You will also be asked for a deposit to secure your wedding date in their calendar.

This first discussion serves, first and foremost, to introduce ourselves and see if we connect with each other.

I take this opportunity to explain my approach, my values, the workflow from booking the wedding to delivering the photos, as well as all the responsibilities I must take to protect you. For me, this initial meeting is about giving you as much information as possible, so you can make the most informed decision possible.

In the past, it allowed forbidden marriages to take place, but today, it’s more about getting married in an intimate setting, with only a few witnesses. This concept allows for holding a non-traditional ceremony in a unique location, sometimes hard to reach, such as on top of a mountain, or even abroad.

It always depends on the schedule of your big day and the importance you place on those memories.

For my part, I find it difficult to know this detail so far in advance of the big day, so I always allow couples to adjust the length of their photo coverage after signing the contract, once they have a better idea of the schedule for their day.

During the discovery meeting with your photographer, you will be able to discuss the different options and thus get a better sense of what will work best for you.

I always have the option to hire someone to assist me with the photo coverage of your day, but I prefer, first and foremost, to avoid adding these additional costs for couples. I believe there is always a way to organize the schedule to ensure nothing is missed, without needing to rely on a second person.
